SHOW HIM THE MONEY: "Financing is essential to every evolution of every project. You have to embrace it. If you say, 'Don't tell me about the money,' you're not going to last very long.... The budgetary side was always par for the course. For that reason I can pretty much end up on budget always. If I felt the budget was too low I'd tell them: 'If you want it, you've got to pay for it.' I'm pragmatic. In the film I just finished in Australia, it took only 74 days. It's a big film called 'Alien: Covenant,' the unit is 500 or 600 personnel. It started with 'Prometheus.' The fuse was lit because I thought 'Alien' had gotten worn out, because the truth is the films weren't very good. Mine and Jim [Cameron]'s were pretty good. But I felt it was gone. Then I thought, 'I can resurrect this' - 'Prometheus' is a resurrection. We go to where and why in 'Alien: Covenant.' I really like what science fiction enables you to do: it provides an open platform of discussion."
