'Doctor Strange' Premiere

EL CAPITAN THEATRE, HOLLYWOOD, OCT. 20

Hollywood Boulevard was transformed into a magical sanctum, with glowing gateways framing the red carpet for the 14th film in the Marvel Universe. Stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Tilda Swinton greeted fans, and later posed with writer-director Scott Derrickson and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.

'Loving' Premiere

SAMUEL GOLDWYN THEATER, BEVERLY HILLS, OCT. 20

The global discussion of marriage equality was center stage at the screening of "Loving," which documented the trials and tribulations of the couple that successfully overturned Virginia's ban on interracial marriage. "It's very much relevant today," said star Joel Edgerton. "It's very timely in terms of racial tension and marriage equality." Co-star Ruth Negga, producer Colin Firth, and writer-director JeffNichols also attended.

'Trolls' Premiere

REGENT THEATER, WESTWOOD, OCT. 23

Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, James Corden, and Zooey Deschanel were all smiles and giggles on the rainbow carpet, much like the fantastical creatures they portray in the animated film. "[With] the very strange election coming up, and social unrest," said director Mike Mitchell, "we really wanted to make a film that made people feel happy, that felt like a party ."

'The Crown'

MOMA, NEW YORK, OCT. 23

Writer-producer Peter Morgan and director Stephen Daldry were the royal couple at the Museum of Modern Art as Netflix hosted a screening for the pair's knockout drama "The Crown," which bows Nov. 4. At the dinner that followed, guests were quick to genuflect to producers and cast members in tribute to the artistry of the series that looks at Queen Elizabeth II's early years on the throne. Producers Jason Blum and Colin Callender, Tina Brown and Harold Evans, Gay Talese, financier Leon Black, actor Zachary Quinto, UTA's Peter Benedek, and Sony Pictures TV's Andrea Wong were among the notables who made time for an audience with "The Crown."
