Jack in the Box Inc. is the recipient of the 2016 Human Resource Management (HRM) Impact Award, which recognizes organizations with outstanding evidence-based HR management practices.

The award is given annually by SHRM, the SHRM Foundation, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and the SIOP Foundation.

The San Diego-based fast-food chain was chosen for its project "Talent Analytics in Service of Organizational Purpose: Nourishing the Pursuit of Dreams."

Over the course of a decade, the HR team helped the company transform its business model. It partnered with Metrus Group to understand how well employees were aligned with the business strategy and customer value proposition; whether workers had the proper tools, training and information to do their jobs effectively; and how engaged and committed the workforce was.

The HR leaders used a process called Alignment, Capabilities and Engagement (ACE), which helped its management team understand how human capital measurements can, and do, predict critical drivers of business outcomes. …
