Saban Community Clinic Dinner

Saban Community Clinic's 40th annual gala honored FX president John Landgraf and Showtime exec VP of corporate communications Trisha Cardoso for their philanthropic work. Host Aisha Tyler delivered a scorching, politically bent stand-up act, and was joined onstage by Louie Anderson, John Stamos, and more.

'Moana' Premiere

EL CAPITAN THEATRE, HOLLYWOOD, NOV. 14

Before the blue carpet rolled, attendees were treated to a performance by stars Dwayne Johnson and Auli'i Cravalho, along with songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda and Polynesian dancers. Miranda was brought into the project very early on, before "Hamilton" hit the boards, and he admits that writing music for a Disney film "was intimidating at first." But, Miranda said, "It was a joyful collaboration and not unlike making a piece of theater."

Variety and WWD's Stylemakers

Variety and WWD's second annual Stylemakers luncheon honored Oscar-winning costume designer Albert Wolsky, stars Tracee Ellis Ross, Jenna Dewan Tatum, and Diplo, as well as celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin, stylist Petra Flannery, hair extraordinaire Danilo, and fashion designer Zuhair Murad.

'Bad Santa 2' Premiere

AMC LOEWS, NEW YORK, NOV. 15

The "Bad Santa 2" debut reunited many of the actors of the scabrously humored original film. New addition Kathy Bates was also on hand to be merry. Said Miramax Film & TV head Zanne Devine: "We spent a long time trying to get the script right. The magic moment came when we decided to add Kathy's character."

L.A.'s Most Powerful & Influential Latinos

CITY CLUB, L.A., NOV. 16

The Imagen Foundation, which strives for the positive representation of Latinos in entertainment and media, celebrated its eighth annual "Most Powerful and Influential Latinos" list, which included CBS Entertainment's Angelica McDaniel, WME's Warren Zavala, and Variety publisher Michelle Sobrino- Stearns. Helen Hernandez, president of the Imagen Foundation, said: "In the early '80s, you could count the individuals in these positions with one hand. It is inevitable that our community needs to be taken into account. …
