This young man has barely reached the age where he can legally drink alcoholic beverages in most states, yet he has been working professionally for some years. This is his third compact disc under his own name. I must admit this CD is the first one I have heard. If the other two are anything like this one, it sure bodes well for the future. Michael is a rare talent. For some time now he has come under the tutorage of Jim Stinnett. This latter gentleman is a professor at Berklee College of Music and while Michael is a graduate of Dartmouth College, he has studied privately with Mr. Stinnett. This has proved to be a great break for this young musician. Michael is a graduate of Dartmouth College, so he has studied privately with Mr. Stinnett. The association of these two men has given Michael the encouragement that he can try anything musically. This brings us to this recording. Mr. Blum would listen to Oscar Peterson CDs while driving back and forth from his music lessons with Jim. …
