Ron Thomas and Paul Klinefelter have worked together many times in many configurations since they met in 1980. These seasoned veterans both agree this is their favorite venue, the duo. They have much in common as both are from a classical background who found jazz by the time they were around twenty. Also both have lived and worked much of their adult life in the Philadelphia area.

The program here is a not the usual songs they record. They will play this type of music on gigs but the past recordings consist of many originals. Also one will find their style of music in past recordings either bordering on or being free form jazz. Here we find five of the eight offerings from the American Songbook. All are taken as slow ballads with just enough off the melody to be interesting. The late Bill Evans is without a doubt a great influence on both performers. …
