Jim Rotondi, Joe Locke and David Hazeltine are veteran players whose careers have often intertwined over the years. They are around the same age, mid to late 50s. Carl Allen is also of that age group but I could find only one recording session where he appeared with Hazeltine and Rotondi and that was in 2007. The "new kid in the block" would be David Wong and even he has been around for over 15 years, working and recording with Hank Jones, Roy Hargrove, The Vanguard Orchestra to name a few. This is then a well-seasoned aggregation making some great music.

The leader is a graduate of the University of North Texas. He worked in the New York City region for years but he and his wife now call Graz, Austria home. Hazeltine is a strong bebop player who names Cedar Walton, Buddy Montgomery and Barry Harris as some of his favorites. …
