Three Special Forces soldiers were killed Nov. 4 at a Jordanian air base. Staff Sgt. Matthew C. Lewellen, of Lawrence, Kan.; Staff Sgt. Kevin J. McEnroe, of Tucson, Ariz.; and James F. Moriarty, of Kerrville, Texas, were all serving with the Army's Fifth Special Forces Group.

The three were shot by a Jordanian soldier at the gates to the King Faisal Air Base near Al Jafr, some 150 miles south of Amman. The gunman was wounded in an exchange of fire with other U.S. soldiers.

At press time, the FBI was investigating the incident as a possible terrorist attack. Stars and Stripes also reported that U.S. Special Operations Command - Central is conducting a separate investigation. Results of that investigation are expected to be released after the FBI investigation. …
