2016 Outstanding Educator Award Presented to Linda Fleming

On November 12, 2016, Linda Fleming, Professor of Fine Arts and Sculpture at the California College of the Arts (CCA), received the International Sculpture Center's 2016 Outstanding Educator Award. The presentation ceremony, which was held in the Tecoah Bruce Gallery at the Oliver Art Center at CCA, coincided with a closing reception for Fleming's solo exhibition "Tangible Mind."

Fleming's friends, family, colleagues, and students came out to support her and watch her receive the award. Allison Smith, Chair of CCA, Stephen Beal, President of CCA, and Brian Gross of Brian Gross Fine Art Gallery spoke about Fleming's success and inspiration as an outstanding educator. Robert Duncan, ISC Chairman Emeritus, also expressed his congratulations: "I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this prestigious award. You have spent your entire life teaching and making art...We have known each other for more than 20 years, and we are proud that our home, Lincoln, Nebraska, has four major works of yours. …
