Natalie, Allison and Meegan Closner, better known as the Portland, Oregan-based trio Joseph, are reminiscent of Haim or Courtyard Hounds, other sister acts that feature organic harmonies. With the release of I'm Alone, No You're Not, Joseph has shed its folk roots and adopted a more indie alternative sound that's similar to The Lumineers, Neko Case or The Strumbellas. It's a sound that's just different enough to rise above the noise and get noticed. A little alternative, a little country and a whole lot interesting, this new direction of Joseph should garner them a far greater audience.

The first single off I'm Alone, No You're Not, "White Flag," is an impossibly infectious pop-rocker, the kind of tune that, when you hear it on the radio, you keep listening to, even after you've parked the car. …
