Terrence Malick comes out of hiding. The reclusive director showed up after the premiere of his drama "Song to Song" for a conversation moderated by Richard Linklater. "You never know at the end of the day what you got," Malick said of his process of shooting without a finished script. "The editing takes a longer time than usual. You have to ask the patience of the studio or financier."

James Franco an Oscars frontrunner? "The Disaster Artist" - a comedy about the making of what's widely regarded as the worst movie of all time, the 2003 cult indie "The Room" - was met with perhaps the biggest applause in SXSW history.
