The 10 winners of the I Love My Librarian Award are Danielle S. Apfelbaum, Andrea Bernard, Olga Valencia Cardenas, Elissa Checov, Kathryn Cole, Tabatha "Tabby" Farney, Sherri Ginsberg, Lia Kharis Hillman, Jamille Rogers, and Roosevelt Weeks, Sr. The award consists of $5,000, a plaque, and a travel stipend to attend the awards ceremony and reception in New York. CILIP's new VP for 2017 and president for 2018 is Ayub Khan. He is a fellow of CILIP and head of libraries and Face to Face Services at Warwickshire County Council. These roles are honorary, and their duties include being an ambassador and spokesperson for CILIP.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) swore in six board members who were appointed in late November. They are Sayeed Choudhury, associate dean for research data management and the Hodson director of the digital research and curation center at Johns Hopkins University's Sheridan Libraries; Luis Herrera, city librarian for the San Francisco Public Library; Homa Naficy, chief adult learning officer at Hartford Public Library; Tey Marianna Nunn, director and chief curator of the Art Museum and Visual Arts Program at the National Hispanic Cultural Center; Jane Pickering, executive director of the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture; and Beth Takekawa, executive director of the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience.

In a separate release, IMLS announced an additional seven museum and library professionals who were appointed to serve on the board. …
