Bell & Howell Information and Learning Presents Library Technology Award at NOM

Daniel C. Arbour, vice president of marketing at Bell & Howell Information and Learning (formerly UMI), presented this year's Bell & Howell Information and Learning Library Technology Award during the opening session at the National Online Meeting. This year's award went to John Fribley, learning resource center librarian at Indiana's Ivy Tech State CollegeElkhart, for his development of the Ivy Tech Virtual Library.

Presented by UMI (and now Bell ldc Howell Information and Learning) since 1990, the Library Technology Award recognizes librarians who have made significant contributions in developing innovative information systems and services that directly benefit patrons.

Fribley said: "Anything I've done to further the scope, use, and effectiveness of Ivy Tech's Virtual Library has been my pleasure. Working with other Ivy Tech regional librarians to create this access to our online catalog, periodical databases, and other Web resources has been a tremendous learning experience. …
