Description: The Palm Me is a handheld organizer intended to attract consumers new to using organizers through its relatively inexpensive price and ease of use. Data is entered by touching the screen with a stylus or by transferring data from a desktop computer, which can be done easily. The device is useful for storing and organizing dates, addresses, e-mail, and memos, as well as performing numerous other useful functions.

Specifications: The Palm Me Organizer is 4.7" x 3.2" x .7" and weighs 6 ounces with two AAA batteries included. It has a backlit, black-andwhite display and can communicate via infrared communication with appropriately equipped computers. The organizer has 2 MB storage capacity and comes with a variety of applications, including Date Book, Address Book, Mail, To Do List, Memo Pad, Expense Calculator, and more. The organizer also comes with a protective flip cover, batteries, a handbook and get started guide, and a HotSync cradle for connecting with Windows machines.

Price: The manufacturer's recommended retail price for the Palm IIIe Organizer is $229, but the device can be purchased for as low as $199.

System Requirements: Although the Palm IIIe Organizer can be used on its own, it is most helpful when used in conjunction with a computer. The installation and operation of Palm Desktop software requires Windows 95 or higher on an IBM-compatible 486 or higher with 8 MB minimum RAM (16 MB recommended), 20 MB available hard disk space, and a VGA or better monitor. The desktop software can be loaded via the CD-ROM drive (3.5" diskettes can be ordered) or downloaded from http://www.palm. com. A serial port is required to use the HotSynch technology to allow the organizer to download information and software from a computer, which may make it necessary to disconnect an external modem.

Th connect the Palm IIIe to a Macintosh, users must purchase the Palm MacPac v2, which contains the correct cable, software, and other items needed to make the connection.

Warranty: The Palm Ille Organizer has a 1-year warranty that gives 3Com the option of replacing a defective unit, replacing parts with a new or refurbished unit or part, or refunding the purchase price. Repairs or replacements made under this warranty are guaranteed for 90 days.
