SoftBook Press, Inc. has announced an enhanced version of its SoftBook Reader that includes significant new functionality, such as Ethernet connectivity; increased storage capacity for lengthy corporate documents with Compact flash cards; and compliance with the public draft of the Open eBook specification.

The SoftBook Reader now provides modem connectivity through standard phone lines, as well as direct connection to Ethernet networks, giving users the highest degree of speed and flexibility available when connecting to download content. Available this quarter, the Enterprise SoftBook Reader with Ethernet is priced at $699. …
