There are 26,835 full-time Black faculty in the United States, accounting for roughly 5 percent of all full-time faculty 1

employed at post secondary institutions in the country. Among the full-time Black faculty working at postsecondary institutions, roughly one-third - or 7,954 - are employed by his2

torically Black institutions. Black faculty constitute approximately 58 percent of the 13,527 full-time faculty employed by historically Black colleges.
