ATLANTA - Command Sgt. Mai. Frank L. Spangle became Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Reserve Command in a ceremony hosted by Maj. Gen. Thomas Plewes, Commanding GeneraL on Aug. 6 at the USARC Headquarters in Atlanta.

Spangler is the first sole CSM for USARC. This position was previously also held by the CSM of the Army Reserve.

"This is a soldier who is uniquely prepared and qualified to serve as the first fulltime CSM for USARC. You will discover that he has not only a great personality but a deep commitment to soldiers and the Army Reserve," said Plewes.

The duties of the CSM of the Army Reserve, Command Sgt. Maj. John (Jack) E. Rucynski will remain the same. As the CSM of the Army Reserve, he is the principal senior enlisted advisor to the Chief, Army Reserve for matters concerning enlisted soldiers.
