A great way to hold the attention of your audience between discs is to release a live album, or in this case, a double live album. With DiFranco's relentless release schedule -- she often releases a new studio album every year -- it's little wonder she opted for a follow-up to her 1997 live effort, Living In Clip.

The first disc is called Stray Cats, alluding to the mixed bag offered, from standard live cuts to a few that are rarely played onstage. "Letter to a John, Napoleon, Cradle & All" and "Grey" are a few of the 11 tracks that make up the disc. There is also a version of "Shrug" that captures the song's first live, public performance.

The second disc, Girls Singing Night, features tracks like "Dilate," "32 Flavors," "Not a Pretty Girl," "My IQ" and You Had Time." The 13 tracks on this disc are a cross-section of songs from DiFranco's intensely personal collection of female songs. …
