Portfolio Scorers Wanted

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards is seeking career and technical teachers to score portfolios this summer. Teachers will be needed July 10-28 in Durham, N.C., Stillwater, Okla., and Clemson, S.C., and Aug. 7-22 in Pennington, NJ. To qualify, scorers must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, a valid teaching certificate and three years of teaching experience. They also must currently be teaching in the certificate area at least half-time and have successfully completed an assessor program. For more information, call 800-228-0752.

Sorting Through Scholarships

The U.S. Commission for Scholastic Assistance-College Bound has compiled a list of more than 700 different private scholarships available to the public for most types of postsecondary education. Corporate Scholars Program
