DR. EARL LEWIS has been named provost at Emory University in Atlanta. Presently, Lewis is dean of the School of Graduate Studies and vice provost for academic affairs at the University of Michigan. He earned a bachelor's degree in history and psychology from Concordia College in Minnesota and master's and doctoral degrees in history from the University of Minnesota.

DR. JESSE C. MCCARROLL, professor emeritus of music at New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York, has been named national representative of the U.S. to the Pan African Society for Musical Arts Education. He received a bachelor's degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, a master's, and a doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University.

DR. MAXIME FUNDERBURK MOORE is the new vice president for academic affairs at Mississippi Valley State University. Moore comes from Johnson C. Smith University where she was a dean and professor of English. She earned a bachelor's degree from Johnson C. Smith University, a master's from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a doctorate from Emory University in Atlanta.

EDDIE N. MOORE JR., president at Virginia State University, has been named to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II President's Council. …
