ACTE is sad to report the loss of a longtime member. On October 10, James D. Price was killed in an automobile accident. He was 48 years old.

Price was a past president of the Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education and was parliamentarian at the time of his death. He had been president of the Illinois Business Educators Association.

In addition to his many career and business interests, Price was an active and involved member of his community of Mount Zion, III, where he had served two terms as mayor from 1979 to 1987 and had been the associate superintendent of the Mount Zion School District in charge of finances since 1985.

Price's volunteer activities included serving as president of the Mount Zion Lions Club and the Mount Zion Park Foundation, as chairman for the Mount Zion Infant and Child Care Board of Directors and as an elder at the Mount Zion Presbyterian Church. He had also been chairman of the Decatur Area Scholarship Association Board of Directors and an honorary life member of the National Parent-Teacher Association. …
