As an organization, IREM is fully invested in the process of reinventing itself to prepare for the future and to better serve you. This commitment is centered around a core set of values that focus on communication, strategic action, participation and the development of long-term relationships.

As your 2001 National President, I am excited about the direction that the Institute is taking this year. It is my hope that each of you will join me in the pursuit of our objectives this year which include:

Utilizing technology more effectively as the vehicle for supplementing existing channels in delivering information, member communication and learning opportunities.

IREM is proactively pursuing technology to enhance its benefits to you. In 2001, you can begin to benefit from the many results of this commitment, including online education, a redesigned web site to better serve your communications and information needs, and expanded learning opportunities such as a new seminar on technology.

Developing a meaningful and realistic strategy for growing the Institute into a global organization.

Connecting to international markets presents many opportunities for IREM and its membership. The key to taking advantage of these opportunities is the standardization of real estate practices worldwide and the pursuit of long-term relationships with international partners. IREM is strongly committed to achieving both of these goals and will continue its efforts in forming partnerships with global organizations including those in Canada, China, Korea, Japan, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Spain, Brazil and Argentina.

This year, IREM will endeavor not only to strenghten its realtionship with the National Association of Realtors and its affiliates, but with other strategic partners as well. …
