There are those who see fall as a sign that the end of the year is near, but in the dance world, it is a time of new beginnings. Companies finally get to raise the curtain on the new performance season that has been months in the planning, and ballet students everywhere return to classes with the anticipation that the insights gained at summer intensives will pay off with great leaps forward.
