Commitment to e-government

Canada's federal government is committed to achieving fully enabled electronic service delivery by 2004. For more information of this initiative you may wish to explore: This is Canada's online government site, containing information for Canadian citizens and businesses (e.g. on health, consumer affairs, taxes, etc), as well as for non-Canadians visiting, studying or doing business in Canada. This subsite, "Serving Canadians in a digital world", contains a wealth of information on Canada's strategy to achieve integrated electronic service delivery across different sectors and "jurisdictions".

Canada's e-commerce strategy

In 1998, Canada's Department of Industry established an Electronic Commerce Task Force in order to forge partnerships and address the horizontal issues created by e-commerce. See the following web site: 60.html Electronic Com-merce in Canada. This site contains information on public-private sector initiatives in e-commerce, including Canada's Electronic Commerce Strategy. It also includes up-to-date information on key issues such as the development of a government-wide public key infrastructure to enable secure electronic commerce within government and with external clients.
