Companies wishing to obtain detailed information on civil trials can now have this data--literally a their fingertips. Trial Line, a product created by AMICUS Information Services in Emeryville, California, is the first data base that provides comprehensive information on thousands of completed civil trials from the Superior and Federal District Courts of California, says P. Kurt Peterson, chairman of AMICUS. "Previously, the only way for companies to get this information was by hiring attorneys or associates to spend hours in libraries pouring over paper documents to get the same information," he says.

The data base includes information on judges, juries and attorneys, expert witnesses, local court rules and analyses of other trial trends, and is continually updated by a team of 16 AMICUS team researchers. Companies can quickly and thoroughly access results of completed trials in cases with similarities to their own and evaluate potential outcomes of active cases. …
