Now that the professional football season is nearing an end. it's time to revisit the choices for Sunday afternoon television. As you flip through the channels, you might want to check out CNBC's "Living with Diabetes" at 2:00 PM EST. If the name sounds familiar, you may have caught the show a few years ago, when it was on Lifetime Medical Television.

"Living with Diabetes" is a 30-minute newsmagazine written, produced, and hosted by former disc jockey Pat Gallagher, who himself is diabetic. Gallagher strives to present a positive outlook and to "educate patients and their families about diabetes, so they can take control of their disease."

Each week, the show profiles a person with diabetes who has made outstanding achievements. A portion of each program is devoted to medical concerns, and a physician discusses such issues as heart disease, cholesterol, exercise, and diet. An certified diabetes educator gives patients practical advice on everyday living, covering topics ranging from foot care to getting air bubbles out of an insulin syringe.
