NATURAL-LOOKING MAKEUP FOR THREE SKIN TONES.

For every skin tone, there are dozens of makeup choices. Here, NYC-based makeup artist Denise Melroy helps Alley School students Jasmine Roberts, Alicia Lundgren and Sarah Horrigan find the right colors.

LIGHT

* Eyes: Pick sheer blues and lavenders for eyelids and blend into a soft yellow-toned highlighter shadow applied above the creases. Brown eyeliner and mascara define eyes without looking too harsh.

* Cheeks: Sheer blush in a pink tone gives fair skin a healthy glow.

* Lips: Choose a pink-based neutral lip pencil and top with pink gloss.

MEDIUM

* Eyes: Choose warm eye shadow such as red, orange or gold. Blend the color into a warm brown highlighter applied above the eyelid crease. Top with a brown/black shade of eyeliner and soft black mascara.

* Cheeks: Warm browns and spicy earth tones such as terra cotta make medium skin tones glow.

* Lips: Avoid pink; a neutral brown lipstick will look more natural. …
