* Sacked Tory MP Howard Flight has abandoned his fight to be reinstated as the Conservative candidate for Arundel and South Downs. He has also ruled out running as an independent Leader Michael Howard sacked Flight after he suggested that the party had a secret agenda for spending cuts.
