It takes a wild bunch to produce Working Mother magazine. I mean this in the very best way, of course! To come up with the ideas for our stories and layouts, it takes a bold and fearless bunch of dreamers, writers, editors and artists. This month, some famous working moms like Vanessa Williams and Heidi Klum even joined in. Just in time for Father's Day, they shared memories and photos as each described the best gift-material or spiritual-her father had ever given her (page 108).

I love the story Jenny McCarthy of MTV fame told us. "I was the first person in my family to go to college," she said. "During my first few months there, I was homesick, broke and sad. So I wrote home. My dad sent me a box full of crumpled money-ones, fives, tens and twenties. Somehow he and my mother, who were very poor, went around and scraped together as much money as they could to keep me in college." Enclosed with the box of cash was a note from Jenny's dad. It read: "I miss your face."

That's why Jenny's anecdote and face are on this page, along with the faces of other talented women from diverse backgrounds who have helped to make this issue a very special one. …
