This month Waterhouse Gallery features a show of new works by the talented Canadian artist. Lague left a successful career in film animation in 2002 to pursue fine art full time. Eye on the West

PASADENA.... Michael Hollis Fine Art presents new landscape paintings and on-location sketches by California artist Jesse Powell this month. More dian 30 paintings arc on view and feature scenes from the artist's recent travels to picturesque settings in Laguna Beach, Big Sur, and Catalina Island. Powell, 28, was recently selected for signature membership in the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association.

Early California Impressions

IRVlNE.... Mountains, deserts, and ocean views. The California landscape has it all. This month the Irvine Museum celebrates the state's natural wonders in a show that presents works by early Golden State painters. The artists include Frank Cupricn and Joseph Kleitsch. A 1945 Cuprien painting captures the incoming tides and light on the California shores while a Kleitsch work, painted in 1922, presents an intimate view of his young wife cooling her feet in a mountain pool.
