Sundance Film Festival: London Sets 2016 Dates

The 4th Sundance Film Festival: London is to run June 10-12, 2016 when it moves to the newly launched Picturehouse Central near London's Leicester Square.

The UK offshoot of the Sundance Film Festival had run for three years, from 2012 to 2014, in late April and was hosted at the O2 arena in east London. But this year's edition was cancelled as the Sundance Institute decided to "explore our options for Sundance London".

On its return next year, the festival will again feature the international and UK premieres of films from Sundance, held in January in Park City, Utah.

The dates mean that Sundance London will run at the same time as Sheffield Doc Fest (June 10-15) and end three days before the Edinburgh International Film Festival gets underway (June 15-26).

John Cooper, director of the Sundance Film Festival, said: "Building on our 30-year legacy of discovery and creativity, the Sundance Film Festival: London gives us the opportunity to share new independent films we love with adventurous and engaged audiences in the UK.

"Our new timing in June will allow us to connect with London filmgoers as they start their summer, and also to take advantage of the fantastic rooftop space of our new host venue, the very impressive Picturehouse Central. …
