It’s easier to name the Emmy Awards shows from the past two decades that haven’t recognized Julia Louis-Dreyfus - who’s earned 22 nominations and nine wins for comedy hits “Veep,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and “Seinfeld.” How have these numerous red carpets informed her style approach? “I’ve learned that structure and comfort are essential, and that hair and makeup should complement and highlight the gown,” she says. After landing seven supporting actress nom for playing Elaine Benes on “Seinfeld” - and scoring her first win in 1996 - Louis-Dreyfus made a stylish return to the Emmys with “Christine.” “I was so flattered when Narciso [Rodriguez] reached out about creating a custom dress,” she says. “It felt very fancy to go to New York for fittings.” Rodriguez didn’t disappoint. “I loved the sleek beadwork and the simplicity.”

“This was a modern take on an oldtime Hollywood look, which is just one of my favorites,” says Louis-Dreyfus of the strapless Vera Wang dress she wore the fourth year she vied for lead actress. “I was crazy about the color combination of the teal with navy grosgrain belt. There was a fantastic structure within the dress, which I always appreciate.”
