'Tarzan' Expands, 'Mike and Dave' Goes International

After starting its international swing in two markets last weekend, The Legend of Tarzan (pictured) arrives in the UK, France, Australia, Mexico and 23 other new territories this weekend, putting it on around 9,500 screens in 46 markets.

The Warner Bros Pictures International (WBPI) release had amassed $28.3m internationally as of Wednesday (July 6). WBPI's The Conjuring 2 had reached $185.5m by the same day and the studio's Me Before You, released in Russia on Thursday, $91.8m.

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates hit Russia and Australia through Fox International on Wednesday, just before the raunchy comedy from Chernin Entertainment opened in North America. Zac Efron and Adam Devine star as two brothers who place an online ad to find dates for a wedding.

Fox International also had Ice Age: Collision Course reaching Brazil on Wednesday and Independence Day: Resurgence touching down in Japan on Saturday (July 9). As of Tuesday (July 5), Ice Age had grossed $21.9m internationally and Independence Day $187.4m.

Central Intelligence, from Universal Pictures International, opens in Russia and Spain this weekend, with $32. …
