PREPARE FOR HEDONIC ADAPTATION, the tendency to get used to emotional experiences. Even the pleasure of wading in the Caribbean or gazing at a historic landmark dims with time. So when mulling whether to spend an extra week in a particular city or line up back-to-back sightseeing tours, consider the value of mixing up your itinerary and spacing out peak experiences.
