San Sebastian Film Festival Adds Michael Haneke, Darren Aronofsky to Line-Up

Borg/McEnroe, mother!, Happy End and The Florida Project heading to Spanish festival.

Ten new titles have been added to the Pearls selection of the 65th San Sebastian Film Festival (Sept 22-30) in Spain.

They include: Darren Aronofsky’s mother!, Michael Haneke’s Happy End, Sean Baker’s The Florida Project and Janus Metz’s Borg/McEnroe.

The films will compete for the Donostia/San Sebastian Audience Award, voted for by spectators. The award is spilt into two categories, best film and best European film.

The Pearls selection contains films that have not yet been released in Spain, but have received acclaim at other festivals.

Michael Haneke’s Happy End and Lynne Ramsay’s You Were Never Really Here were both nominated for the Palme D’Or at this year’s Cannes. …
