Chilean auteur Sebastian Lelio makes English-language debut
Bleecker Street has acquired US rights to Sebastian Lelio’s Disobedience, the drama starring Rachel Weisz, Rachel McAdams and Alessandro Nivola that premiered in Toronto.
Lelio’s English-language debut centres on a Jewish community in north London as a New York-based photographer returns for her father’s funeral and rekindles a friendship with another woman.
Lelio wrote the screenplay with Rebecca Lenkiewicz. Frida Torresblanco produced for Braven Films, Ed Guiney for Element Pictures, and Rachel Weisz for LC6 Productions. Film4 developed the film and co-financed with the film’s internationals sales agent FilmNation. …
