NACM DESIGNEE SPOTLIGHT: Christen Borman, CCE

Christen Borman, CCE, is currently the Northeast district credit manager at Ferguson Enterprises Inc. She started as a credit trainee in 2009 after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a major in finance. Around 2012, Ferguson sought to expand market share in the New York Metro area. Borman accepted an opportunity to become an area credit manager in 2013. Since then, Ferguson's Northeast district has expanded to included Philadelphia and upstate New York.

What prompted you to enroll in NACM's educational classes and Grad School?

I earned my Credit Business Associate (CBA) in 2012 from NACM because it was highly encouraged at Ferguson as a tool to advance your career. After hearing from my manager and others at Ferguson who participated and completed the Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management (GSCFM), I knew I had another educational goal to work toward. I jumped at the opportunity to enroll in 2016, because I knew not only could I complete my CCE but I'd build lasting relationships with colleagues in credit and enhance my learning in credit.

What was your experience in the designation process?

The experience exceeded my expectations because I highly enjoyed learning more about credit while also acquiring new knowledge that was very relevant in my daily responsibilities. …
