ANERA’s Gala Introduces New CEO Sean Carroll

American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA), a development organization helping families in the Middle East since 1968, held its 2017 annual gala Oct. 13 at the stunning National Museum of Women in the Arts in downtown Washington, DC. The theme of this year's dinner was "Tapestry of Humanity: The Common Thread that Binds Us All." Guests watched an excellent film spotlighting ANERA's work.

Passing up the traditional sit-down dinner, ANERA's elegant reception gave attendees the opportunity to mingle as they ate hors d'oeuvres and viewed artist Diane Campion's "The Innocents Project," painted portraits of Syrian and Palestinian refugee children caught in the middle of a turbulent situation. Guests donated funds to help ANERA's projects that support education, economic opportunities and dignity for Syrian and Palestinian refugees. They also met Sean Carroll, who recently replaced Bill Corcoran as ANERA's CEO and president. …
