Cat Clyde is a singer-songwriter with her roots firmly set in the blues. The 20-something songwriter from Stratford, Ontario, has released an excellent debut album, Ivory Castanets, that pays homage to her mid-century influences, including Delta bluesmen Robert Johnson and Led Belly, and the incomparable Etta James.

Folk and country join the solid base of blues upon which Ivory Castanets is built to create a suite of well-crafted, well-produced songs. Having played in bands since she was in her early teens, Clyde has honed impressive songwriting skills and a thoroughly unique vocal style that utilizes phrasing rarely heard outside of jazz.
