Air Force Lt. Gen. Samuel Greaves, director of the Missile Defense Agency, and Richard Ambrose of Lockheed Martin Corp. received the Honorable Peter B. Teets Award at an Aug. 1 ceremony.

The National Defense Industrial Asociation's Space Division annually bestows the Teets award to recognize public- and private-sector leadership or achievement that contributes significantly to the development, introduction, operational contribution, or support of space systems. It is the division's highest honor.

Greaves is former commander of the Space and Missile Systems Center at Air Force Space Command, Los Angeles Air Force Base, where he was responsible for more than 5,000 employees nationwide and an annual budget of $6 billion.

He managed the research, design, development, acquisition and sustainment of satellites and associated command and control systems. …
