IVY TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGE WAS FOUNDED IN 1963 AS INDIANA VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL College and has experienced impressive growth and change to better reflect the modern scope of career and technical education (CTE). Today Ivy Tech has 45 campus and site locations; offers classes in more than 75 communities; and serves nearly 160,000 students a year. According to the college's website, not only is it the largest public postsecondary institution in Indiana, it is also the largest singly accredited statewide community college system in the country.

The college offers more than 150 programs through the School of Business, Logistics and Supply Chain; the School of Public Affairs and Social Services; the School of Information Technology; the School of Arts, Sciences and Education; the School of Health Sciences; the School of Nursing; and the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Among the benefits for its students cited by Ivy Tech are state-of-the-art labs with high-tech equipment often donated by companies that recognize the importance of having an educational partner that will provide them with a well-trained workforce. As is often the case in career and technical education, classes are taught by instructors who are experts in their fields.

Ivy Tech Community College offers the only associate degree in radiation therapy in the state of Indiana, a program that is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. The associate degree program covers six semesters and consists of 70 required credit hours. The curriculum includes courses on patient care, pathology and treatment principles, radiation physics, radiation biology and safety, and ethics.
