'The Handmaid's Tale' Director Reed Morano Signs Overall TV Deal with Amazon Studios

Continuing to build its roster of TV content creators, Amazon Studios has signed an overall television deal with Emmy-winning TV and film director, cinematographer and producer Reed Morano.

Morano will work exclusively with Amazon Studios to create original series for the global Amazon Prime Video platform.

She won the Emmy for drama series directing last year for The Handmaid’s Tale, becoming the first female winner in that category for 22 years and the first woman ever to win the Emmy and the DGA drama series directing award in the same year.

Morano’s feature I Think We’re Alone Now, on which she served as director and cinematographer, won the special jury prize for excellence in filmmaking at this year’s Sundance festival. …
