FILM AND TELEVISION music has reached a crossroads. On the one hand, we're living in the golden age of content - a world open to sounds of all stripes and songs from every era. On the other, rates for such specialized fields as music supervision and scoring have remained stagnant. Meanwhile, among the broadcasters and cablers, streaming services and studios, demand for music, be it original compositions, library offerings or songs to synch, is at an all-time high with a rate of churn the industry races to keep up with.

These are among the topics on the agenda at Variety's inaugural Music for Screens Summit, where top executives and creatives driving music for TV, film, theater, video games and commercials will come together on Oct. 30 at NeueHouse in Hollywood to share their experiences and address pressing issues. …
