Preparation: Begin In a wide, turned-out fourth position, with the left arm in first position and the right reaching up and back on the diagonal.

1. Dégagé the right foot as you counterbalance by leaning back with the upper body. Internally rotate the working leg.

2. Continue raising the right leg, still maintaining internal rotation, as the left arm reaches up and back on the diagonal. The right arm reaches down and behind the right leg.
