Of course, I never met the late billionaire but through the articles in Sea Classics on his incredible underwater discoveries, I feel I almost do know the man and his passion for American history. The finding of the USS Hornet (CV-8) that was featured in the May issue is momentous and will serve to those Americans (at least to those Americans that have knowledge of or care about such things as patriotism) as a remainder of those fateful days when the freedom of much of the world hung in balance. I am enclosing a couple shots of that wonderful ship from my files for readers to enjoy. Now, how about a comprehensive article on USS Hornet (CV-12)?
