Our Teddy could now be set for a crack at the Group Two Tote Dante Stakes at York next week after returning to his best at Doncaster yesterday.

The three-year-old landed a thrilling win under Martin Dwyer in the Doncaster Racecourse Sponsorship Club Conditions Stakes.

Having led a quarter of a mile out, he had to dig deep when headed by Balin's Sword at the furlong marker, but dig deep he did to get back on top in the last 100 yards and he kept on to beat the former by a neck with Always Esteemed a head away in third.

Our Teddy (8-1) had finished sixth in the Macau Jockey Club Craven Stakes at Newmarket last time out, but his trainer George Margarson said: "To be fair he has never worked well on the Rowley Mile gallops and he did not handle the dip. …
