New Company Embarks on Takeover Programme

Aclinical diagnostics company has made its first acquisition after just six months of trading. Hartlepool-based Hart Biologicals plans to increase staff numbers from two to eight after buying the Thrombosis Reference Centre at Withington Hospital in Manchester.

Hart, which was set up by Albert Pattison in November, has finalised the deal for the business which supplies products for use in the diagnosis and treatment of illness.

The takeover, for an undisclosed sum, will allow Hart to continue supplying high specification products to hospitals around the country.

The company now has plans to target other hospital pathology laboratories and private clinics including Hartlepool General Hospital.

Albert Pattison, said: "This is a highly specialised area and there are very few companies of this type in the North.
