Summer on the jetty As the riverside development in Putney continues to grow, this bar and fish restaurant is finding itself blessed with new outside spaces. A jetty over the river can accommodate 60 people, and a new piazza is an enviable spot to while away an afternoon over a bottle or two of nice wine. The food is seriously fishy, from simple dishes of fish pie ([pounds sterling]7.50), battered cod and chips ([pounds sterling]8.95), chargrilled tuna steak nicoise ([pounds sterling]12.50) to pan-roasted skate wing with courgettes, mushrooms and a curry sauce ([pounds sterling]12.50).

Cocktails on the roof Take the glass lift from the ground floor and you'll be transported to the roof garden of this elegant Conran bar and restaurant.
Outside the main bar is a smart terrace and a walled garden with great views of the City. The bellini cocktails are [pounds sterling]9.50 and regular Martinis [pounds sterling]7.50. A bottle of 1988 Krug costs [pounds sterling]210, a glass of house red or white wine [pounds sterling]3.50. The place remains open at weekends with a good jazz brunch operation on Sundays.
