Barry Tweddle won Seaton Sluice SAC's River Aln competition, which saw all 10 rods participants weigh in 56 fish for 43lb 10oz.

Barry's catch was of 13 flounders for 12.2oz, including the heaviest single fish of 1lb 6oz.

Geoff Baldwin was runner-up with six flounders for 6lb 1oz and Marty Pygal third thanks to his nine flounders for 6lb.

Bedlington Buccaneers SAC fished a match in the River Wansbeck which saw all 14 rods weigh in a combined 53 fish. Junior Sam Thompson took first prize with 11 fish measuring 330 centimetres. John Bell was second with eight fish for 216cms, ahead of John Bell jnr, who had six fish for 185cms. The longest fish was an eel of 54cms taken by Alan Harrison.
