IT will come as no surprise to any 18-year-old to hear that Prince Harry got himself into an advanced state of refreshment last night. It's a simple rite of passage: with his A-levels done with, what else is there to do other than go out with your mates and get right royally bladdered?

He is obviously a canny little soul, for he chose the relative safety of Chelsea - the stamping ground for many a former Etonian - for his libations.

First stop was the achingly trendy cocktail bar Bardo, on a stretch of the Fulham Road known as The Beach, so named for its Meditteranean-style cruising atmosphere on warm summer evenings.

Scantily clad girls were in abundance last night at The Beach, and a burly man was keeping watch on the door at this fabulous cocktail bar, which has established itself as the new HQ for Sloane Rangers. The cocktails are expertly prepared, if a little strong, but that shouldn't have posed too many problems for a man with a youthful and honed constitution.

Harry was later seen at The Collection in Brompton Cross. This is the staggeringly good looking former Katharine Hamnett warehouse, and is a place where young fashion clotheshorses still congregate in search of opportunity.

Sharp-suited City boys suck beer from bottles and stalk their prey; ladies straight from finishing school sit demurely waiting for someone to buy them champagne. …
